150th Anniversary
November 9th, 2008 marked the 150th year of our
congregation's
mission in the Logan area. The original congregation split in
1867 and both congregations are still in active ministry St.
Peter's, ELCIC, in Brodhagen on Line 44 and First Lutheran, LCC,
located on Line
42.
Service Projects
We raised funds for several projects throughout
the
year:
- Olive
Branch for Children - irrigation project (see chart left)
and with our friends from First Logan we have raised
funds for:
- Canadian Foodgrains Bank (Monkton growing project)
- Brodhagen Community Hall playground equipment

November Friday - Olde Tyme Radio show featuring the St.
Peter's
Life Skit. This evening was a fund raiser for the Olive branch
irrigation project. |

23rd August Saturday - Anniversary Parade from
St. Peter’s to First Logan for a corn roast which
raised over $500 for the Brodhagen Community Hall playground equipment. |

21st June Saturday - Front Porch Concert @ St.
Peter’s Parsonage
Featured talents from St. Peter’s & First Logan. The freewill
offering to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank - Monkton Growing Project
raise over $1000 |

- 150 years ago Charles Darwin unveiled his theory of evolution. This
idea challenged the literal biblical interpretation of creation. How
has our thinking changed in these last 150 year? Pastor Steve will be
delivering a sermon on this topic in celebration of our 150 years of
biblical witness to the Logan area. 19th October Sunday
- Following worship we will be having our “Celebration of Local Food”
meal. The proceeds from that meal will go to our 150th Anniversary
Service Project - Olive Branch irrigation project. Event sponsored by
Faith life. 2nd November Sunday - Sunday School Anniversary Worship @ St. Peter\'s 10:30am Children\'s lunch and party following worship. Parents welcome too. 2nd November Sunday - Anniversary Worship @ First Logan (afternoon) 7th November Friday
