150th Anniversary
150th Anniversary Committee Working Groups:
1. Worship - co-ordinator Pastor Steve - this group will
oversee the special services, guest speakers, contact of former pastors
and the bishop, community participation, including of Frontline, and
nursing homes and shut-ins in our year long celebrations.
2. Publicity - co-ordinator Deb Elligsen - this group
will see
that the congregation and the community are aware of upcoming events
with flyers, phone calls, newspaper and radio ads.
3. Music and Entertainment - co-ordinator Richard
Leonhardt -
this group will organize all musical and entertainment events including
choir involvement and guest performers for our special services and
talent events throughout the year.
4. Banners - co-ordinator Deb Elligsen - this group will
be
responsible for providing banners to hang in the sanctuary in
co-operation with our service groups within the church.
5. Photo Directory - co-ordinator Pastor Steve - this
group
will look after arrangements for a new photo directory for the
congregation including hiring the company, arranging photography
sittings, layout decisions, etc.
6. Lunches and Dinners - co-ordinator Laurene Regele -
this
group will take care of organizing potlucks, after-service coffee hours
and special meals for the anniversary year. This group has been filled.
Volunteers will be needed to work individual events.
7. Sunday School and Congregational Picnic -
coordinators Kim
Finlayson and Gerald and Gwen Neeb - this group will take care of
organizing Sunday School participation in anniversary events, and
coming up with a special annual picnic celebrating 150 years of St.
Peter's children. This group has been filled.
8. Confirmation Reunion - co-ordinator Rose Robinson -
this
group will organize an all years confirmation reunion, tentatively
scheduled for our anniversary celebration weekend in November 2008.
9. Decorating - co-ordinator Barb Scherbarth - this
group will
be in charge of special decorations for anniversary events through out
the year.
10. History and Archives - co-ordinator Deb Elligsen -
this
group will be responsible for fording information needed by the other
groups, looking up pictures, articles, old member information, etc.,
setting up displays of historical pictures and documents, books and
paraphernalia for our anniversary celebration.
11. Special Mission - this group will oversee
fundraising events for our outreach mission service project for the
anniversary year. We have chosen "The Olive Branch for
Children". Any funds
from joint fund raising event with First Logan will go
to the Canadian Foodgrains Back - Monkton Growing project.
