To the Council and Congregation of St Peter's

I have some hard but important news to share with you. The congregation of St Peter's Lutheran Church in Cambridge has called me to be their new pastor, and after much prayer and reflection I have decided to accept this call. It's with a heavy heart I share that my final Sunday with you will be September 25, 2022.

This is incredibly hard news to share because I love you all dearly. I'm so grateful that God brought us together 10 years ago for my first call. You have shaped me as a pastor and you've supported me and my family through many ups and downs. This was a very hard decision to make, but for our family at this stage it is time to make a move closer to John's work.

Until September 25th I will be doing my best to be your pastor. This transition will require some house-hunting, and a certain amount of time spent preparing to move. But my heart and my focus will be here: Preaching and leading worship. Visiting the sick. Comforting the grieving. Presiding over the sacraments. Equipping you to take on pieces of congregational life that I must hand off. Leaving all the passwords where someone else can find them! Synod office will be in touch with church council to make arrangements for interim ministry and guide you through next steps.

Saying goodbye to you will be difficult for me and my family, but I am so grateful for our nearly 10 years of ministry together. It truly has been a source of pride serving as your pastor. Thank you for everything you have given to me and my family. I will always pray for the continued blessings and success of St Peter's and its ministry.

Your sister in Christ,

Pastor Laura
